Mike Riggin
Vice Chairman
Mike Riggin joined Global in May 2009 as Chief Risk & Compliance Officer and had overall responsibility for the company’s banking relationships as well as risk, regulatory compliance and audit functions. Mike took on the role of Vice Chairman in January 2025 and serves as chair of Global’s Compliance & Risk and Audit Committees.
A seasoned expert in payments and regulatory compliance, Mike has a longstanding affinity for the financial services industry. He started his career in banking and pursued his interests throughout the industry in multiple key financial services roles.
Prior to joining Global, Mike served in key roles across Bank of America, including national sales and product management within the bank’s Global Treasury Management organization. Following Bank of America, he served as Market President for a Prosperity Bank predecessor where he helped build out the bank’s Dallas retail banking footprint. This exposure led to a deep appreciation for the order and discipline necessary to manage risk and compliance in a rapidly evolving financial services environment.
Mike is regarded as a payments thought leader and has served as a voice of the industry at various financial technology and payments association conferences. He is also a current or past member of several corporate advisory boards including Comerica Bank and, currently, The Clearing House Payment Association’s RTP corporate advisory board.
Mike received a Bachelor of Science degree from Fordham University, completed the American Bankers Association’s National Compliance School and earned the ABA’s Risk Management certificate offered through the University of Maryland. In his spare time Mike enjoys traveling with his wife, Brenda, and spending time with their 5 boys.
